Document Retention

If successful in securing European Structural Funds support all documentation relating to the implementation of a project and its financing must be retained for three years after the final payment by the Scottish Government made under the 2007 -2013 Programme.

For this Programme the final date for document retention, is anticipated to be 31 December 2019, but this could be later and so applicants are advised to retain documentation until at least this date and will be advised if the period is longer.

HIPP Ltd would advise that all paperwork associated with a project from the development phase to evaluation is retained for audit purposes.  Some further hints and tips are available in the presentation from the Summer 2008 workshops available in the Downloads section under Monitoring.
